The Wizbang® Tech Trackback Pinger

This form can be used to send a trackback pings to any blog that accepts Trackbacks. You do not need to have a Trackback system on your blog to send pings. After submitting the form the results will be displayed. You can post comments or questions here.


TrackBack Ping URL:

Examples:
  • For MT blogs the trackback URL generally follows this format:
    http://www.yoursite.com/mt/mt-tb.cgi/123
  • For pMachine Pro 2.3 the trackback URL generally follows this format:
    http://www.yoursite.com/pingserver.php?p=tb&id=123
  • For WordPress the trackback URL generally follows this format:
    http://www.yoursite.com/entrytitle/trackcack
Other blogging systems will have different formats. Cut and past the full URL (or URI) shown in the trackback listing into this box.

Entry Title:

Copy and paste in the title of your post. Maximum of 80 characters.

Your Weblog's Name:

Enter the name of your blog. Maximum of 80 characters.

Your Entry's Permalink URL:

This is the permanent URL to your entry on your blog, which is referencing the post you're pinging. On most blogging systems the permanent link is often underneath the entry denoted by "link" or "permanent link" text. This must be a complete URL, so please include the http://

Entry Excerpt:

This is an excerpt from your post. Max of 250 characters (if longer, the text will be cut shorted and have a "..." added to the end). HTML is allowed, but make sure not to include special characters that will render incorrectly (use ASCII or HTML entities).

After you submit your ping you will see a short XML message.

A successfull ping will generate the following message:

A failed ping usually generates the following message (note the error code is 1):
